1st Cut Carpentry carries out work, adhering to the highest level of health and safety regulations, to ensure every member of our workforce is trained in making the correct decisions and following all health and safety guidance.

We manage and maintain a training matrix to ensure that our team keep up to date with all health and safety protocols and polices. This ensures all aspects of the company’s operations maintain this high level of health and safety at all times, this includes on-site, daily activity briefings and weekly toolbox talks.

We pride ourselves in taking care of our workforce and their health. We ensure all accidents, no matter how minor are investigates and logged. Safety is our number one priority. So, post investigation we ensure our team are up to date with any outcomes and changes to the way we work. At the end of the year, we will work with our health and safety advisors to set priorities for the year ahead.

Site inspections are regularly undertaken by our safety officer with reports issued and action points raised; the points will then be followed up and managed but a senior site manager. Our site supervisors also undertake weekly site inspections and all of our sites are monitored and scored on health, safety and performance by a senior site manager.

We want our workforce to choose to work safely not because they have to but because they want to, and achieve our ultimate goal to return them to their homes safely every day.

All of our team hold current Trade CSCS cards with appropriate NVQ levels. Supervisors and managers have either SSSTS or SMSTS certificates and manager NVQ levels. All supervisors and managers are face fit trained. All supervisors and managers are first aid trained. We are registered with CHAS and use advisors at Simple Safety Advice to ensure we are up to date all year round.
